The leaves are round in outline from a very early age and have a glossy green colour. The trunk is clothed in its upper portion with beautifully woven fibres and the crown is taller then wide, making it easily recognizable. It appreciates a subtropical or tropical climate and makes one of the most attractive potted fan palms when young.
