How to root a cutting ?

The rooting medium should consist of 2/3 coarse perlite and 1/3 peat. The medium must be quick-draining. Pre-moisten the medium before placing the cuttings and pack it tightly. A rooting hormone containing fungicide can be used if desired. To reduce the risk of rot, do not plant the cuttings too deep - approximately 1 to 2cm or 0.5" to 1": (the roots will appear at the bottom of the cutting). It is generally not a problem to place the cuttings in full sunlight; however, it is preferrable to place them in semi-shade exposure. Do not water them too frequently until roots appear. The ideal temperature for rooting is approximately 28 to 32°C or 80 to 86°F. Roots will appear in 3 to 5 weeks.
